About Movement Loft Dance Company
Our mission at Movement Loft Dance Company is to provide adults of all ages and backgrounds performance opportunities.Our programming is designed to support the whole artist: providing access to classes and workshops to improve technique; social experiences to build community through art; and public performance opportunities that enrich our community by making dance accessible.All of our members are adult non-professional (recreational) dancers who have experience with dance, and a strong desire to grow artistically, technically and personally.
And above all- want to have FUN!
NOW CASTING: Summer 2026 Season
We're excited to cast for our upcoming season of Movement Loft Dance Company.Summer 2026 runs April - August 30.Step right up to Movement Loft Carnivale— where the stage transforms into a surreal circus of wonder, movement, and magic; where artistry and spectacle collide.This Summer Showcase features group ensemble pieces in the following styles:
- Contemporary
- Hip Hop
- Jazz
- Ballet
- Musical Theater

May - Rehearsals beginRehearsals most Sundays, holidays excluded. Rehearsal times vary by piece based on choreographer and dancer availability: 1-2:30pm + 2:30-4pm
Commitment:
You do not need to have performed professionally before, however you will need to be familiar with dance terminology and learning choreography. You will also need to be comfortable with performing publicly.During this season our goal is to develop and grow our dancers artistically, providing opportunities to expand your technique, focus, dedication and passion for the art.Our showcases include a mix of styles including contemporary, hip hop, jazz, ballet, tap, international dances, musical theater, heels and others that showcase the interests and talents of our dancers.We work with a diverse range of local choreographers, who create each piece to match our showcase themes and dancers' skillsets.OTHER INFO:
- MLDC members are able to pick which styles they would prefer to learn and perform in. MLDC staff has final say in casting for each piece.- MLDC Members commit to performing in a minimum of 1 piece per season- MLDC Members attend at least 80% of rehearsals- MLDC Members are expected to be actively taking classes to improve technique and skills

OUR TEAM
Artistic Director: Nicole "Cole" Rusli Iwata
Nicole "Cole" Rusli serves as Artistic Director for Movement Loft Dance Company. She spearheaded the formation of this dance company in 2024, and since has been instrumental in overseeing creative direction, and working hand-in-hand with our choreographers and dancers to produce showcases. Cole grew up dancing various forms of dance. After graduating from UT Austin, she performed for several years with a contemporary dance company. She joined Movement Loft as teaching faculty in 2021, choreographs works for local shows, and works full-time in tech.
